Meganisi: The small island with big colours

Tiny Meganisi island may be one of the smallest Ionian Islands but it is definitely big on colour!

The traditional villages, pretty harbours and countryside are an abundance of natural flora and fauna and brightly painted buildings. Meganisi is quite unique in having some very colourful graffiti that helps the dull concrete walls of modern building blend a little into nature!

Spring time is a great season to visit and host your wedding on the island with the wild flowers a riot of natural colour in yellow, pink and purple against the first flush of green spring leaves.

The fishing boats that fill Vathy harbour and come and go daily with their catch where for many years the main source of income for many of the islanders. They brighten up the quayside with their picture postcard colours of red, blue and white.
